Mystic Seaport Steam Ship Restoration
Potts was contacted to assist in the restoration of a ship’s boiler during their restoration. The new boiler was reverse engineered and manufactured to current ASME Code, as well as Maritime fabrication specifications, as no blueprints were available. Sabino ‘s old boiler dates from 1940 when the U.S. Navy operated the vessel on Maine’s Casco Bay, but the design goes back to the late 19th century. Delaware Media - Projects Made in Delaware Publication
Potts was contacted by Delaware Media to support a new publication targeting the manufacturing and skilled trades to encourage young people to at least consider a blue collar career path. The publication will be distributed to all the trade schools and guidance counselors in DE high schools, as an option for students to consider before graduation. We were very proud to be considered, and to have one of our employees featured.
